Well if Arc produced it more than it should. Probably in the region of £20k and then on top of that charges to maintain it

Not so sure bout that... why not talk to Arc and ask them rather than speculate?

Thanks Trailor Trash.. As anonymous(12:52) mentioned, 12:32pm feel free to let me know if you would like to discuss production costs of such a site, glad it got your attention at least, and since you sound pretty confident of what you wrote, I assume you can do the same or better? How much would you charge? Never know.. we may need a freelancer at some point..

The initial flash build, coding and then account management would come to £20k, that's not taking into consideration the photography and filming which would be seperate so you can imagine that this is a very expensive site. I worked at Arc London after the beauty agency Leonardo was forced to merge into it. A very clumsy and depressing hell hole to work in representing a production conveyor belt rather than an agency. Looks like the ME outfit isn't as depressing.

There are also a number of elements to this site which wouldn't be allowed in the UK, such as the text is too small to pass disability regulations etc. A stupid point but a still a barrier.

All in all I love it, I've been playing with it with my interactive planner here and although it would be done differently here we both think it has considerable merit.

I take it those mini robots feature in the TV campaign?

Well there was actually no photography or filming done here at our end, all the work was done in 3D, I am glad that it looks that realistic to someone in the industry!!! I am sorry you feel that you worked in a hell hole, the MENA team enjoy what we are doing...yes the robots are in the TVC.. you can download it in the download memory bank section in addition to some funny wallpapers..it is all part of an integrated campaign..thanks for your feedback.

It was 3 years ago but from what I hear the turn over is still high in the London office and it's not a very happy place, but anyway, impressed that absolutley NO photgraphy was used AT ALL. So the whole build was done with graphics? Very impressive.

Impress me further, how much did it cost to build?

So are you asking the cost to take me up on the freelance offer? Or just to compare to the Arc London cost ( which I heard would be much higher than what you mentioned and what we charged) ...and I was not trying to cover who I am, I just made a mistake in not posting it under my name exactly as I had earlier, I have nothing to hide, on the contrary, proud of the team's work...:)

There were only a handful of people at ARC during that time and I was one of them. Anonymous, if you are who I think you are then call me so we can impress you with the cost.

I don't work in digital anymore, I have a fleating relationship with it nowadays but try my hardest to bring it to a traditional advertising table. ARC was of about 90 staff when I was there, not huge but not small.

Are you from the old London office of Spicer? Got out too huh?

Knew Spicer and the gang! Where you on the creative front?

Nope not on the creative front...if you can callit that.

What about you?

A site like this costs no more than USD 22,000. I've been in the industry for some time and it's not practical for a company like GM to pay more than that. Well done to ARC for producing a quality product for their client.
